Spectrum Powder Coatings recommends Super Durable XP polyester powder coatings for architectural applications. Super Durable powders are formulated to maintain greater than 50% of their original gloss following 5 years of south Florida exposure. Combined with automotive grade pigments, Super Durable powders typically meet or exceed the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) 2604-05 parameters. Please consult Spectrum Powder Manufacturing Ltd. to determine whether certain colours in the red, orange and yellow ranges meet the AAMA Colour Retention (ASTM D2244 Section 6.3) specification.
Powder coating is specified because of its durability, scratch resistance, gloss retention, weatherability, resistance to chalking, the unlimited range of colors, finishes, glosses and textures, the fact that it meets AAMA specifications and because it is an environmentally friendly finishing process, making it an important part of a sustainable or green building project that incorporates low-emitting products. Virtually any part and any product in your next project might lend itself to powder coating including metal and aluminum composites.

Agricultural:
Spectrum Powder Coatings supplies a wide range of powders to the Agricultural OEM sector. For single coat, direct to metal applications we recommend Chemical Resistant (CR) polyester coatings with increased cross linking resulting in superior corrosion and chemical resistance. For two coat systems, which incorporate a Zinc Epoxy Primer, typically over blasted/wheel-e-brated steel, we recommend Super Durable UV resistant topcoats. Two coat systems offer optimum functionality and protection to the steel substrate.

We supply a variety of colours in gloss ranges from 10 to 90 degrees. Powder coatings for electronic applications typically come in smooth, textured or sandtex finishes.
